Rae Ritchie is an artist, designer, and illustrator who primarily works in acrylic gouache. Her favorite pieces to create include sly looking animal friends with a slightly anthropomorphic take, as well as florals and foliage. She finds inspiration from the British Arts & Crafts movement, the weirdest things found in nature, and the teeny tiniest microscopic details of flora and fauna.

Rae Ritchie is an artist and illustrator based in Minneapolis, MN, USA. Greatly inspired by the British Arts & Crafts movement, as well as the exquisite strangeness of nature, Rae creates meticulous detailed scenes of natural magic, opulent animals, and curious critters. Rae’s work has been used in quilting fabrics, stationery, greeting cards, and even social media campaigns.

In 2006, Rae started out in the fashion industry, designing women’s and kids’ fashion accessories for major retailers. “It was creative,” she said, “but I most felt alive while creating prints and graphics for those products.”  She was always painting on the side, so Rae decided to focus on fabric design and illustration for greeting cards, stationary, gifts and apparel.

Rae’s clients include Los Angeles Times, Dear Stella Design, Fjallraven, Workman Publishing, Peter Pauper Press, Feiwel & Friends, Compendium, Sellers Publishing, Design House Greetings, Manhattan Toy Company, and American Greetings. And she’s always adding more.
