Heather Powers is a surface design artist and illustrator that loves to draw anything that grows, from garden herbs to rustic woodland finds. She creates work that feels peaceful, cozy, and connects with nature.

Heather Powers is an illustrator of nature and nostalgia. She loves drawing things that nurture the soul, relish the simple life and celebrate the every day. In her beloved hometown of South Haven, MI, she draws inspiration from the beaches, fields, and forests that surround her. The slower pace of life in this small community is reflected in thoughtfulness and beauty of her welcoming art.

Heather studied fine art at Kendall College of Art & Design, where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts. She is a former SCBWI Regional Advisor and was the recipient of the SCBWI Tomie de Paola Portfolio Award. When she's not drawing or painting, she's making beads and jewelry. Heather is the author of three jewelry and bead books: Jewelry Designs from Nature, and Beautiful Elements published by Kalmbach Publishing and the Beadmaking Lab from Quarry Books.
